Semen Gresik Profit Potential to Grow 30%
The company booked Rp 2.52 trillion net profit in 2008.

VIVAnews – PT Semen Gresik Tbk. (SMGR) predicts the corporate net profit to grow 30 percent in the end of 2009, compared to the same period in 2008 reaching Rp 2.52 trillion (around US$267.65 million).

“Our income is predicted to grow 10 percent until the end of the year,” said Semen Gresik president director Dwi Sutjipto in Jakarta on Thursday, Nov. 26.

Sutjipto said that the net profit increase is mainly triggered by the efficiency in the company.

Meanwhile, the company is allocating US$400 million for the 2010 capital expenditure. The budget is included in the 2009 – 2014 corporate capital expenditure, valuing US$1.2 billion.

The company has absorbed US$200 million from the capital expenditure. “All necessities were financed from the internal budget,” he said.

He added that the 2010 – 2014 capital expenditure will be allocated to the construction of two factories in East Java and Makassar. The capex will also be used to construct two power plants and develop the technology and information system.

Semen Gresik targets the East Java factory will be able to start production in 2012 with a capacity reaching 25 million tons per year, and it is expected that the factory will be able to increase the production capacity to 29 million tons per year in 2014.
