VIVAnews - The Indonesian government condemns Israel for continuing the development in the West Bank, the area plotted as the future capital of Palestinian state. Indonesia demanded that the international community to have one voice in urging Israel stop the housing development.

"We want to emphasize that the Indonesian government condemns the measures and policies taken by the Israeli government in allowing the housing development. That is clearly contrary to the international law and UN resolutions as well as hampering peace processes," said Natalegawa in Jakarta, Thursday, Nov 19.

Earlier this week, the Israeli government stressed an issue that the administration will keep building 900 homes for Jews in east Jerusalem.

Given the fact, Israel's closest ally the United States, which is trying to bring peace in Middle East, was upset upon Israel's action. In fact, US President Barack Obama called on Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cease the development as a form of respect toward the Palestinian people.

However, Israel insisted on proceeding with the plan, which may spoil the peace process.

According to Natalegawa, the Israeli government is not likely prepared to hold talks with the Palestinian authority. "We condemn the action. We see that it will not be of any help," said Natalegawa.
