VIVAnews - The Indonesian government is planning to link Java and Sumatra with a bridge, which will be the longest one on earth. A national team will be formed after a presidential regulation draft on the Sunda Strait bridge development is completed by Public Works Ministry.
Deputy Public Works Minister Hermanto Dardak said the draft outlines that three working groups on the bridge project will be set up.
"The national team is under the coordination of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, with Public Works Minister as the acting chief. There will also be three working groups," said Hermanto on Nov 17.
The working committee consists of a team which will be responsible for working on under-sea technical matters, wind issues, earthquake. There will also be one which will study the area and environment development. The third team will be focusing on economic issues, financial planning as well as partnership with various agencies.
