VIVAnews - The year 2009 recorded low credit growth in Indonesia, which was only seven percent, out of the target set by Bank Indonesia at 15 percent.
"This year's overall credit is low due to the economic downturn," said Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Darmin Nasution on Thursday, Nov 12.
According to him, despite the small growth, several sectors improved by about 15 percent such as electricity credit, which was above 30 percent, agriculture, mining, communication and transportation, reaching 15 percent each.
The car adequacy ratio hit 17.7 percent and the non-performing loans recorded 4.3 percent in September 2009. The Central Bank also noted that banking liquidity is now better. In addition, inter-bank financial market and third-party fund also advanced.
