Earthquake Kills One in Indonesia's Bima

VIVAnews - The 6.7 on the Richter Scale earthquake which currently occurred in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, took the live of one inhabitant named Siti Aisya, 70.

30 others are suffering from serious injury while hundreds are under minor wounds.

"The dead victim is still at the Bima hospital," said Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Disaster Mitigation Agency Supardi today, Nov 9.

78 buildings are severely damaged in Bima Regency and Bima Municipality. The earthquake also ruined three mosques in Bolo and Kolo, two schools and one public health center in Wera Sub-district, and shops.

Emergency tents and rice have been distributed to the area.

The earthquake also caused some areas of land to erode.

Supardi however said, "the earthquake does not cause the regions to be isolated."
