Schering Indonesia Merges with Merck
SCPI and PT Merck Sharp & Dohme Indonesia (PT MSD) will run their operations separately.

VIVAnews - Holding company of PT Schering Plough Indonesia Tbk (SCPI), Schering-Plough Corporation, stated that it officially merged with Merck & Co. Inc. (Merck).
According to Schering Plough Indonesia President Director Thierry Powis through corporate information disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) today, the merger was based on the Law of New Jersey state, the United States.
He went on by saying that after the merger took place, Schering-Plough legal entity will remain. However, Schering-Plough will be modified into Merck & Co. Inc (MSD).
Powis acknowledged that Schering-Plough is the ultimate shareholder of PT Schering-Plough Indonesia Tbk (SCPI) which indirectly owns SCPI shares through Schering-Plough International, Inc., and Schering-Plough Healthcare Products, Inc. "Therefore, the structure of the stock ownership at SCPI level will remain intact," he said.
He said that despite the merger, SCPI and PT Merck Sharp & Dohme Indonesia (PT MSD) will run their operations separately.
